Our mission at Sleeping Bear Gateways Council (SBGC) is to preserve and enhance the Sleeping Bear Dunes gateway communities by creating opportunities and mitigating challenges. By working together, we can improve the quality of life for both our residents and visitors for generations to come.

IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution
A tax benefit for you, a brighter future for our community.
Individuals age 70½ and older who are required to take a minimum distribution from their IRA (a “RMD”) can donate up to $108,000 (for 2025) directly from their IRA to SBGC, satisfying the IRA RMD without the distribution being included in taxable income. Check with your professional advisor to confirm your specific tax situation.
